I followed a tutorial to make this portfolio cuz I am not good at creating UI's but the hosting is done via Azure, The code is on Gitlab, so I can do some easy devops, and there is some Rust code in here as well. I hope to be a future Rustacean. I also wanted to give you a little information about myself so have fun exploring this webpage.
Hello! My name is Joseph Spring Chief. Please call me Zack. I have been in the IT industry for 16 years now. I started my career in the networking field when I was recruited with a start up company called Siksika Tel. I then moved on to Platinum Communications, which is where I found my passion for all things IT. I have done almost everything from helpdesk, Network technician, Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, and now, my interest is programming. I got stuck in the "which programming language should I use loop" I started with Javascript, but I'm not going to lie I STRONGLY hated that language HAHA! I then tried C# and F# but I really disliked that I had to install dotnet to make the program run... After about a year and a half of taking a break due to life circumstances, I still found that I still really loved coding yet, I really sucked at it... However I realized that programming is a lot like math and the more you do it, the easier it becomes. I then discovered Rust!. Rust is hard to learn with its ownership and borrowing concepts but, I quickly fell in love with its elegance and strict rules to compile code. Rust has made be fall in love with coding all over again. Beyond coding, I enjoy activities like playing volleyball, video games (Monster Hunter, FFXIV and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are personal favorites), and I also love building PCs, Warhammer 40k, and finally, I enjoy learning (Linux specifically). I value and believe that exercising is the best stress reducer. Finally, I am excited about contributing my technical skills with open source projects. I Look forward to the opportunity to connect and collaborate!
